Valerie McHenry

Valerie McHenry is a Speech-Language Pathologist based in Charleston, supporting families and caregivers by providing speech-language therapy services/coaching in the child's natural environment. She focuses on making therapy fun and functional for her clients and developing plans that fit each family's unique needs. Valerie holds a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University in Maryland and has over 25 years of experience working with children and young adults (birth-21) in various settings, including home, school, and community. She has extensive experience working with children with disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. Valerie particularly enjoys collaborating with other disciplines and providing services for early language, word retrieval, and social/pragmatic language needs. What she enjoys most about her work at Easterseals is supporting families and children early on with speech and language needs, recognizing the crucial role of early intervention. In her free time, Valerie loves living near the beach and spending time outdoors with her husband and their dog, Finley.
